  • Buggy and Unpredictable

    Behavior change (due to updates?) and often for the worse. Recently has started making me login every day which is annoying, especially when I am in car streaming news to my radio. When I pause a program, it often presumes I am done, asks me if I want to delete and won’t restart the program unless I first start a different program and then re-enter the program I actually want to watch. Sometimes doesn’t reenter program at same point you left it. Usually lets you minimize window to allow closing screen to save battery while listening but same action sometimes just exits program thus forcing you to remain in full screen. Just an unreliable PIA IMHO.

    The updated directv app is horrible. On the old version I could watch anything that was on my home DVR, not so on this version. I cannot update the app to show the most current content so old shows that I have deleted on the home DVR are still showing on the app weeks later. Please, please fix this.

    DirectTV never credited my account for CBS being out of service for weeks months and days. You show old movies. Your prices are extremely high. Been a customer for years.

    Constant buffering, this app is running on fiber but you wouldn’t know it, AT&T constantly slowing down data, even with WIFI extension signal still buffers. Customer service is no use ,no one answers the phone and if they do no one has an idea of what they are doing!

    I have use the app for years with no problems but for the past week the app will not work on my iPhone. It works fine on the iPad. 🤷🏾‍♂️. I have remove and installed and rebooted several times.
  • Worst UX across all live streaming platforms

    Like many, I only use this app to get access to Bally. And I’m happy it’s there for that even if the price is absurd. But the UX is so so bad. I don’t think the devs of this app test it on their TVs or their phones, because if they did, they’d see how annoying it is. The bugs. The skipping around. The fact that the only way to fast forward or rewind is in 15 second increments. And nothing has changed in 3 years. It’s insane. No quality of life updates at all. The library is a nightmare. The recommendations are dumber than bricks. I hate it so much and I can’t wait til MLB moves on from Bally so I can say bye to DirecTV forever

    I’ve had far too many occurrences where I cannot access the stream allegedly due to “too many at one time“ when no other device is streaming. Switching to YouTube TV.
  • BEWARE!

    DirectTV has double charged my credit card for the service and has refused to refund the charges. DirectTV says I can not submit a written dispute online or send a written dispute to any address.
  • The bugs keep on comin’ : No resume on wake from sleep

    In addition to fixing nearly zero of the bugs mentioned in DirecTV Online Forums as well as in app reviews, new bugs continue to crop up. The latest particularly annoying bug: Users CANNOT resume an in-progress stream after an iOS/iPadOS device goes to sleep. In short, when you come back to you iPad after stepping away for a couple minutes, your only option is to completely QUIT the DirecTV app, locate your previous program and re-start. Fantastic!
