    needs the option to be able to save snacks or meals. Some bar codes don’t have any information.

    There is limited bar code recognition compared to My Fitness Pal. There is no way to create a favorite meal to use multiple times. You have to add all ingredients each day. The AI is basic and doesn’t recognize, what I would call simple differences, between “tomato” and “a slice of tomato.” It adds the same amount of grams for both (a regular sized tomato). It assumes 100 grams for almost every ingredient named. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to make the app better. The first would be to add the favorite meal so you can at least copy it to each day you have that meal. The other items I listed are probably more complicated for the developers but if they at least added the ability for favorites, I could tolerate until the other improvements are made. I have a three month subscription, so if improvements are made, I will update my review.

    I like the natural typing to find a food/snack, but I actually get slightly different information for the exact same food/weight. There also should be a save food feature so that you can quickly add foods that you’ve previously included. A copy and paste feature would also be nice. I haven’t unlocked the premium features to see how AI works, but it’s pretty crazy that’s it’s $70 for a barcode scanner. That used to be free in many apps.

    The AI needs some work. When I put in “I ate a yogurt with 130 calories and 18g of protein” because I KNOW what’s in there, and then it standardizes it to a 100g serving with 100 calories and 6g of protein… it’s just wrong on all accounts. Then I have to find a description of a different food that approximates the macros I want. And even then I’ll have to adjust the serving size to get the calories and protein where it should be. All for something that I ate that I KNOW THE VALUES OF. It’s pretty weak when you know what something is and you just want to put it in exactly as it is. There needs to be an option to adjust the macros/calories not just serving size and food itself. On that note, a big improvement would be if you could edit the description you typed instead of having to redo it altogether. The AI seems very handy in some situations though. Compared to my wife’s app (Lose It) it seemed to get a strange dinner of protein pasta, pulled pork, and Parmesan close to the values she got on her app and all I had to do was describe it. The AI is definitely impressive in some respects. Maybe the software design that totally relies on the AI is the problem. It requires clever wording and thinking sometimes just to get it to do a basic task, ironically enough. This type of tracking is definitely convenient when it works but especially irritating when it doesn’t.

    I paid for the premium and it’s just as basic as the regular except the barcode scanner periodically works. Not worth the money.

    This app is very difficult to use and offers very little in the way of guiding users to be able to use key features such as finding specific food items to add to the log.
