  • Noom makes weight loss doable and positive

I’ve been a Noom user for almost two years, and I initially lost 15 lbs and hit my ideal weight. I’ve lost a little ground, but I’m still a big fan and feel like it keeps reminding me of the healthy changes I have made and how I can keep improving. Noom is consistently positive, funny, educational and encouraging, and the more I stick to my Noom basics, the better I do.

Been using Noom for a few weeks now. I’ve used other apps in the past but nothing has worked this well for me. Their educational side working with “rewards” for logging meals and weighing are great. I have been consistently dropping pounds and Noom has helped me get back on track to meet my weight goals.
  • Tricked into another 3 months

Learned a lot the first 2 months of using the app. It was very interesting but I was not seeing any significant results. Tried that to cancel after 2 months but let them convince me to keep trying it until the end of my3 months because they would remind me before it expired so I wouldn’t be charge. But guess what? No reminder and I’ve been charged another $170. I wrote to customer service 4 days ago and requested a refund one day after it renewed and have heard nothing from them. I had told people about this program and would have recommend it to friends but I won’t be doing that any longer. Disappointing for sure.
  • Program effective App needs work

I have been on the Noom program for about four months. Weight loss has been consistent and more or less keeping up with my goals. The diet has been easy to adapt to. I think the psychological and nutritional experts have their act together. The app. Well, it needs work. The graphic design is very good (I am a professional graphic designer), but some of the type is ridiculously tiny. For no apparent reason I can see. There are a number of imponderables or just weird snags. For example, I have 1/4 cup of almonds every morning. Without fail. The quantity never varies. It’s my diet. The app will helpfully prompt me with the correct amount for several days then suddenly change course altogether, offering a different quantity and way of measuring. So I have to reset back to my usual setting, the one that NEVER changes, and that happens for every item on my menu. Sometimes as you’re progressing through the lessons it isn’t convenient or even possible to finish the work in one sitting. Not a problem except that you do want to log your meals. Instead of providing a way to quickly get to the main menu, you have to back through the entire lesson, then page forward when it’s time to resume. Also there are times during the lessons when you’re asked to type in responses, but I often need to go back a page or two to find a definition or term. When I get back to where I left off, the fields are blanked out. These and several other petty annoyances make the app less than a joy to use. This program isn’t cheap. A little more investment in app programming is warranted.

Are you planning to release an iPad version of this app, ever? Would be nice.

Could not pick the date to start and attempts to reset not working. No human beings to help resolve the issue.

Don’t want to do on my iPhone - can’t find the info in the app anyway. Can’t figure it out online. Not user friendly for senior citizens. I don’t even want to bother with the 7 day trial that I paid for.

The 3 stars reflects the app, not the program. The program is great. I’ve lost more than 30 lbs and don’t plan to fall back into old patterns so I’m going to stay with noom awhile longer. But the app has become a pain in the butt. When logging food, it doesn’t remember what I eat everyday so every time I log I have to type. I always have 2% yogurt in the morning. Every day. And every day when I start typing the name of the yogurt it suggests 0%. I always use country crock light margarine. Every time I try to log it it suggests country crock original which I’ve never eaten in my life. It’s annoying to have to type so much. When I first started using the app it saved preferences really well and the auto suggestions reflected my daily habits. Logging was a breeze. A couple of months or so ago after an app update it changed to the sorry state it’s in now. I deleted the app and reinstalled but it made no difference. A fix to return it to its former more efficient state would be great.
  • Frustrating

The idea behind Noom is great. But they have replaced real life coaches with AI. My “coach” that I pay for is Welli, their AI. I want a real person to talk with about my struggles, not a bot. The food label system is inaccurate. The exact same foods will be listed on there but one will be green and another orange. And the lessons are all recycled information you learn in the beginning. The worst part is I feel like I wasted money I don’t have to try and better myself and as hard as I am trying, no results are shown.

One of my biggest problems is I love to cook, however, my go to recipes were always very fattening. I love the recipes that Noom has for me to follow. It makes it easy. I would go to the doctor and say what can I eat. They would give me a list of what not to eat. I now now what I can make to make my weight loss journey not only healthy but delicious. Try the quick and fast pizza on a busy night or the spicy brown rice dish on a night you have time to enjoy cooking. These are my favorites.
