    I’m alright with ads and understand everyone has to make money but now they’re in the middle of the game and interrupt.

    I usually enjoy playing this game, randomly throughout the day. I usually prefer the more difficult levels, but the recent updates have rendered the names of the levels meaningless. “Master” is often fairly easy. “Expert” is sometimes harder than “Master.” And the latest addition (translate: reconfiguration, or perhaps a new data source altogether?) “Extreme” appears to be only slightly more difficult than “expert” or “master” and is not at all like the paper copy Sudoku Extreme magazines I’ve enjoyed so much. The fact that the game doesn’t give you a hint that you can then act upon without interference from the game is annoying. So I select hint, see what the hint is, quit the game, then make choices based on the hint. However, what is now truly aggravating (with the introduction of Bowmans bingo as a hint, I think) is that there are no longer unlimited undo’s. Which means that you have to *redo* all the work that you did before if you don’t very quickly find out where things won’t work. In other words, you need to be very careful with regard to trying to discern what won’t work if you need to be able to undo your tentative choices. Otherwise you’ll have to rely on remembering what notes you had in each cell when you need to backtrack. I’m not at all happy with these recent updates to what has otherwise been a really great little game. The slightly smaller font was bothersome and led to more eye strain, but cutting off the number of times you can undo (without quitting the game even) has definitely taken much of the fun out of the game. ☹️

    Way too many ads, I get about 5/6 per game. Takes me about 5 minutes to complete a level so about an ad every minute.

    The game play user experience is great. The game removes the toil that it sometimes requires to make notes and find a solution, without removing the cognitive challenge. BUT the ads are incessant. Two or three ads per game seems way like way too many. Lots of repeated ads as well. I’m going to finish out this month to earn the trophy and then start looking for a new sudoku app. I think this may be the best app out there but $5 is excessive to remove ads and the game is interrupted by ads far too often.

    This makes me so sad. I’ve used this app for years (and happily watched hundreds of short ads generating plenty of ad revenue). I was forced to update and all my stats were deleted. Now the “reward” for clearing a number is a 20 second, unskippable ad. What’s extra insulting is the smiley face telling me to keep going even as you force me to pause for an ad that may or may not crash the app. Notice the pinned review is from two years ago. That’s because this app used to be awesome. Developers, before you respond to this review like you have all the others saying you have a paid version I can download, let me say, I’m not writing this review for you but for other people who might want to download it. Don’t. It is so annoying. There have got to be better apps out there and I’m off to find one. Why would I believe the developers would handle a paid version better than this? And who likes being annoyed into a purchase?
